It is not only difficult for international designers to find jobs in China, it’s also very difficult for the Chinese clients to find the designers who are qualified and easy to work with. So we build this bridge to help them to meet with each other.
This English website is just one part of our internet marketing effors, our major website is in Chinese and popular among local developers, local designers. We, as the only agency in China whose exclusive business is head hunting designers, receive constant calls from all over China. In the meantime, we receive constant emails from Linkedin and all over the world, who were sent by international designers seeking opportunities to work here. Therefore, we built this new website to publish the job opportunities online and allow everyone to share the information. All projects are different: architecture design, master planning, landscape, interior design, furniture, residential, commercial, hospitality, low density, high density, large development as a new town, small project as a bar, high budget, low budget…it’s very difficult for us to decide who is the best candidate for a specific client and a specific project, so we are now publishing some of our jobs here in this website, so that the qualified designer can contact us, rather than we reach out to them one by one.
Our clients consist of mainly developers, including the world’s largest developer Vanke Group, and some large corporations like Huawei Technologies who need to entertain their international clients. The projects we are involved in are all high end: residential, hospitality, and commercial (Otherwise the clients would not need our help to find the best designers.) There are many obstacles for a design firm to expand their business in China, very few Chinese clients and international designers are experienced in collaborating with each other. Amasia is a great collaborator in this senario, we understand the process, the difficulties, the advantages/disadvantages of each other, local codes, economic and cultural differences…we all speak both languages, well traveled, familiar with most of the terminologies…once you join in our site we will be a great facilitator when you have a chance to submit a proposal. Amasia also provides different template of proposals in both languages, which are all in excel sheet so all the calculation is correct and automatic, you just fill in some numbers. It will save you a lot of time…

If you are hesitating to become a paid member of our company, you can still just sign up this site, read our advices/instructions, subscribe to our new job opportunity mailing list (click the ! above), and decide to become a paid member later (click membership above) when you are confident and ready. Before you find a job which is a good fit for you, start to prepare various marketing materials in both language so that you can ask us to forward to a potential client quickly, rather than start to make them and get someone to translate them when you see a job opportunity. We can not recommend you to any client unless we can give the client your brochure that they can print out in a A4 paper or show on their office’s projector. Do not wait until the last minute. Again, the marketing materials need to be in both language, not English or only Chinese. You would not be happy if a Chinese company wants to sell their service to you but all they show you is in Chinese language, right? Same here. The reason we do not want you to put only Chinese is that most of translation we saw are unqualified, no matter how many years she has lived in an English speaking country, or she graduated from a university in China with the major of English. If the translator you are going to use is in China, ask her what “Circulation / Architect of Record / Site Plan / Proposal” means, send her translation to us and we will tell you if it’s correct; if the translator lives in your country and speaks fluent English, then ask her to translate the following words into English: “深化设计”“效果图”“付款进度表”, these are all basic terms in this industry. They need to know.

At least you can try to post your works and experience on this site so that we know how good/dedicated you are. There are many talented designers but they are too busy and do not want to work with us the way we want, well our time is also valuable so we will only work with some of you who accept our mode of cooperation which is basically based on internet and website. Amasia team believes this is more efficient in terms of cooperation. Thank you for your understanding.
This site is only in English and its purpose is posting our job opportunities. Meanwhile we are building a website in both languages that will function like a match.com site, let Chinese clients to look for their favorite international designers and architects, and also let the international designers/architects communicate with the potential clients with our help of translation. So sign up this site first, and start to work with us, once our new site is ready, we will invite those preferred designers to sign up the new site, which will be able to showcase your ability to many potential clients.
